The Role: Associate DevOps Engineer
The Team: The OSTTRA Technology team is composed of Capital Markets Technology professionals, who build, support and protect the applications that operate our network. The technology landscape includes high-performance, high-volume applications as well as compute intensive applications, leveraging contemporary microservices, cloud-based architectures
The Impact: Together, we build, support, protect and manage high-performance, resilient platforms that process more than 100 million messages a day. Our services are vital to automated trade processing around the globe, managing peak volumes and working with our customers and regulators to ensure the efficient settlement of trades and effective operation of global capital markets
What’s in it for you: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate DevOps Engineer with a minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in both Python programming and DevOps practices. As an Associate DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our continuous integration, continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, infrastructure automation, and monitoring systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth deployment and operation of our applications, while also contributing to process improvements and optimization initiatives.
Responsibilities:
CI/CD Pipeline Development: Collaborate with software development teams to design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using industry-standard tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CICD. Ensure efficient code integration, automated testing, and smooth deployments.
- Infrastructure Automation: Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Cloud Formation to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources. Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of the infrastructure.
- Deployment and Release Management: Coordinate and execute software releases, ensuring minimal downtime and smooth rollbacks if necessary. Contribute to the establishment of best practices for deployment and release management.
- Monitoring and Incident Response: Set up and maintain monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk) to ensure high availability and performance of applications. Participate in on-call rotations and assist in incident response and resolution.
- Collaboration and Documentation: Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing. Create and maintain detailed documentation for processes, configurations, and procedures.
- Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices throughout the development and deployment lifecycle. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Scripting and Automation: Utilize your expertise in Python programming to develop scripts and automation tools that improve efficiency and streamline processes within the DevOps environment.
- Performance Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and performance issues within the infrastructure and applications. Collaborate with relevant teams to optimize performance and enhance user experience.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 2-3 years of professional experience in DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipeline development and infrastructure automation.
- Proficiency in Python programming for scripting and automation tasks.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools for application and infrastructure monitoring.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
